What to expect
The main North Macedonia–Greece crossing and the summer gateway to Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and Pieria. The slower side is the Greek (EU) one, where non-EU passports are checked against the EU Entry/Exit System (EES). On peak July–August weekends exit queues toward Greece have reached four hours. Entry back into North Macedonia is usually much quicker.
