What to expect
Nova Sela–Bijača is the main motorway crossing between Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina on the route south toward Ploče and Dubrovnik. Summer traffic is heavy, but the Pelješac Bridge (open since 2022) now lets many drivers bypass Bosnian territory entirely, easing the old bottleneck.
